General Manager – USA (Electronics, Connectors, Aerospace / Defense)
Our client is an international, family-owned industrial group specializing in the design and manufacturing of high-performance connectivity solutions for demanding and mission-critical environments.
Its highly customizable products and subsystems are used across aerospace, defense, space, medical, and advanced industrial applications, with a business model characterized by a large variety of products, applications, and customers rather than high-volume standardized manufacturing.
Established in the United States for nearly 30 years, the company operates from Horsham, Pennsylvania, where more than 60 employees work across sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and support functions.
As part of a planned leadership succession, our client is looking to recruit its next General Manager – USA to build on a strong existing organization and lead its next phase of development.
The challenge is clear: help the business scale without losing the agility, proximity, and entrepreneurial mindset that have made it successful.
MISSIONS
Reporting to the Group Executive Management, you will take overall responsibility for the U.S. subsidiary and its continued development.
You will define the strategic priorities of the business and translate them into concrete actions, with a strong focus on customers, market development, people, and operational execution. While you will hold full P&L responsibility, this is not a finance-led General Management role: your impact will primarily come from your ability to stay close to the business and actively drive its development.
You will remain highly involved with customers and commercial teams, helping develop strategic accounts, open new opportunities, understand market needs, and strengthen the company’s presence in its key industries.
Working closely with the local leadership team, you will oversee the broader performance of the subsidiary across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer service, while supporting the continued development of local manufacturing capabilities and ensuring teams have the direction, resources, and autonomy they need to succeed.
As the company continues to grow, you will help the organization take the next step in maturity without overcomplicating it. You will bring structure where it creates value, while preserving the responsiveness and flexibility of a business accustomed to managing many products, applications, and customer situations.
You will also play a key role in developing the organization and its people, fostering initiative, collaboration, accountability, and strong cross-functional relationships, while identifying and developing internal talent and supporting future career and succession opportunities.
Finally, you will act as a bridge between the U.S. subsidiary and the European headquarters, ensuring close cooperation while preserving the entrepreneurial identity and local decision-making capabilities of the American organization.
PROFILE
You have significant leadership experience within a U.S. industrial, manufacturing, or technology-driven environment, ideally within a business operating with a broad product portfolio, customized solutions, and small-to-medium production volumes.
You may already be a General Manager or Business Unit Director, or a senior Sales, Operations, or Engineering leader ready to step into broader business leadership.
You combine strategic vision with a genuinely hands-on approach and have demonstrated the ability to own a P&L, drive growth, make decisions, and remain closely connected to customers, teams, and operations.
Experience in electronics, connectivity, aerospace, defense, space, medical devices, or another complex industrial technology environment would be a strong advantage. An engineering or technical background is valued, although industrial credibility and operational leadership are more important than expertise in a specific technology.
You demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, sound judgment, strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire and empower others. You are comfortable taking calculated risks and bringing the right level of structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
You have a strong understanding of the U.S. business environment. An experience working within an international or European group is also strongly valued.
Fluent English is required. French is a strong advantage.
The position is based in Horsham, Pennsylvania, with regular on-site presence and travel according to business needs.
WHY JOIN OUR CLIENT?
This is an opportunity to lead a well-established U.S. industrial business at an important stage of its development, with strong local capabilities, experienced teams, and significant growth potential.
You will have the opportunity to shape the next chapter of the subsidiary while preserving what makes it distinctive: an entrepreneurial, mid-sized company mindset, close customer relationships, short decision-making channels, and a strong culture of autonomy.
The company’s culture is deeply rooted in four values: TRUST – RESPONSIBILITY – ENGAGEMENT – MUTUAL AID. These values are reflected in the way people work every day: employees are trusted to take initiative, responsibility remains close to the teams, and collaboration is considered essential to collective performance.
A structured handover with the current General Manager will be organized as part of the succession process, together with an immersion period within the Group in France to gain a deep understanding of its products, culture, and operating model.
